Creating tools and strategies for intentional inquiry-based practice
Our intention is to hold a series of workshops as a chance to extend on our skills and delivery of intentional teaching practice. This is a three week professional commitment. The workshops build on each other as we discuss, teach, reflect and plan. As teachers, we often talk about and/or go and listen to people talking about inquiry-based teaching and learning. However, we are often left with wonderful inspiration, but no understanding of how to put these ideas into the context of our own places of learning. You will be asked to take an active role in this workshop. There will be opportunities to share, discuss and unpack your thoughts and understandings as well as contributing a physical piece of evidence. These elements will be extended and developed over the course of the three weeks that you have committed for your professional development. The idea is to develop our skills and understandings about our intentional teaching practice. During the workshop hour we will work on creating tailored tools and strategies which you will take back to your centre/team in order to explore in action over the following week. Through our own Real Kids philosophy and teaching practice and concepts which align with The 100 Languages and ideas from Harvard based Project Zero, we want to work with you to develop a practical understanding of what it means to be able to deliver meaningful and enjoyable learning environments for children and teachers.
