I first heard about the Reggio Philosophy in 1996, whilst I reading the “Hundred Languages of Children”. I was extremely lucky to attend an American Spring Institute, in May of the following year, and this is when my Reggio Journey truly began.

Since then I have developed a very close relationship with Reggio Children and have built up a close rapport with them through frequent dialogues and meetings. I was asked by Reggio Children to become the New Zealand Representative for the Reggio Children International Network in 1998 and have held this position ever since. This is indeed a great honour. With this position comes the responsibility of organizing and heading the Study Tours from New Zealand to Reggio Emilia, which I have done now for the last eleven years.I have been actively involved in the Education for the past 31 years and have spent the last 23 of those being involved in Early Childhood Sector.  I have always been a strong advocate for the rights of the child and so this journey that Reggio has provided me with has inspired me further with this vision.I have been on the RE Provocations committee since its inception in2002 and have the responsibilities of liaising with Reggio Children; organizing the Study Groups to Reggio Emilia: being the editor of our Encounters Journal and sourcing and selling the Reggio Children publications & resources.
