Welcome to Reggio Emilia Provocations. We are an incorporated society dedicated to exploring the philosophy of the Reggio Emilia infant and toddler centres and preschools within the cultural context of Aotearoa/New Zealand.

 Our aim is to facilitate education and discussion throughout New Zealand in respect to their educational experience which is based on, amongst other things respect for all, the acknowledgement of the rights of children, appreciating diversity, collaboration and building democratic societies.  

As Loris Malaguzzi said "A school needs to be a place for all children," he says, "not based on the idea that they're all the same, but that they're all different." With deep respect for the ideas, thoughts and passions of children, the teachers of Reggio Emilia work to create inclusive, democratic communities in which each voice is heard and listened to, and where school becomes a place for the people who use it: the children and their families. 

We are the recognised liaison with Reggio Children, in Reggio Emilia, Italy, and we are committed to promoting genuine dialogue and sharing of information. Through membership to RE Provocations and with the use of this website we aim to support your interest and provide opportunities to further deepen your understanding of the experience.
